WELCOME TO FABULOUS FEET | CHIROPODY WIGAN

Hello, I’m Julia Franklin. REGISTERED PODIATRIST (CHIROPODIST) AND OWNER OF FABULOUS FEET CHIROPODY AND PODIATRY CLINIC IN WIGAN. I have worked in Ashton for many years and some of you may know me as Julia Latham if I have treated you before at my previous clinics, Ashton Chiropody Practice (next to Ashton Market) and Fabulous Feet in Warrington Road, opposite ‘The Fleece’ and Gerard Street near the Nationwide bank.

Welcome to my foot clinic in Wigan, where my attention is on you and your feet.

Recent changes to NHS healthcare means that foot treatment has become harder to access for many and can involve lengthy waiting times. Routine foot care no longer forms part of Podiatry care in many areas. By choosing private treatment you stay in control of when you are seen and benefit from swift, professional treatment. In addition to this, I have much more time to spend with you, therefore treatments are much more thorough. So don’t wait in pain and discomfort – from basic nail care to the most complex of foot problems, I can help.

WHY SELECT FABULOUS FEET? | FOOT CLINIC IN WIGAN

  • Firstly I’m highly qualified, with an extensive medical background and many years of experience so you can rest assured that you are in safe hands and will receive the best of advice. Please be reassured that treatments are nearly always completely painless. Don’t be embarrassed about your feet as I have certainly seen worse and enjoy the challenge of making them look good!
  • I believe in giving you value for money. My treatment times are often longer than those given by most private practices, as the treatment is very thorough and attentive, which I feel is necessary for the results I achieve and have a reputation for.
  • Treatment at Fabulous Feet aims to make your feet look good – as well as treating problems – and the foot care products used are from the finest ranges available to give fantastic and long-lasting results.
  • Everyone is very busy these days so I offer a full day of Saturday appointments for your convenience.
  • I have an outstanding reputation in the local community in Wigan, which is something which I work hard to keep. Find out what others think by reading some of my many testimonials here on Google, YELL.com and Facebook.
  • I am confident that you will be delighted with your treatment. If you are not satisfied with my work, you don’t pay a penny. That’s the Fabulous Feet Guarantee!

….finally, I am friendly and you will always feel welcome and ‘at home’ here in the Wigan foot clinic.

About Me

Whilst the emphasis is on you and your foot problems, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself to reassure you that I have all the necessary qualifications and experience to be able to help you.

I started my working life as a medical research scientist, with a degree in Pharmacology (the study of medicines and how they work), working firstly in migraine research and then in the Pharmaceutical Industry. I then had a break from full-time employment to bring up my two daughters, Helen and Claire. During this time I got very involved with the National Childbirth Trust and trained as an Antenatal Class teacher and taught classes on a part-time basis whilst the girls were young.

On my return to full-time work, I decided that I wanted to work in a more clinically-based role, treating patients, and so decided to re-train as a Podiatrist. I gained a degree in Podiatric Medicine from New College Durham, and established a private practice. I am qualified in Local Analgesia and Prescription only Medicines.

After several years of building up a Domiciliary practice (Home Visits) I began practicing in Ashton-in-Makerfield, starting Ashton Chiropody Practice in Garswood Street, near Ashton Market. I worked there very happily, alongside my Receptionist Helen, for over ten years treating many pairs of local feet!

I decided to take a break from Podiatry at this point and had two years off pursuing other things. However, I decided that I really missed the work and so returned, firstly working in Rodney Street and Harley Street and then again to Ashton-in-Makerfield with my new practice Fabulous Feet Chiropody & Podiatry Clinic. In 2013, I was made a member of the prestigious Royal Society of Medicine.

I believe in a holistic approach to healthcare, incorporating traditional medicine with complementary therapies to promote good health and well-being.
